  1. Sorry about your online order! How frustrating!

We are about as prepared as we’re going to be. Kid is at college (in town) to ride out the storm with his friends. We’ll make some hard boiled eggs to have if power goes out. We have lots of fleece blankets and four cats and flashlights. We’re supposed to get up to a foot of snow ❄️ and maybe a bit of ice. We’re hunkering down until everything melts…

Y'all have some given some great thoughts. Thank you.

Bunny trail warning. Are y'all seeing supply issues where you live? The other day at Sams there were no pecans, vinegar, bleach, rice, and a few other things that I wanted were gone.

Local grocery: lots of empty spaces in the dairy, paper goods, and pet food aisles. Tuesday evening in NC.

-sold shirt on Marketplace (was a Cmas gift for dh from his family he never wore)- to the car fund

    - shopping for a bed for dd2- she's decided she no longer wants to share a room with dd3 (it was their idea to share and they absolutely begged for months)- I told her we can buy a bed as an early bday present (her bday is in November). Found 1 for a great price- lady says she still has it and it is still listed but when I tried to arrange a time to buy it she didn't answer. People are so flaky.

-of course dd3 now says she wants to switch back to the other bed she had- that means I need at least a box springs- maybe a mattress (depending on if I keep the one from the twin/full bunkbed. I told her I'm only doing one of these at a time. Maybe bday for her.

I'd not make either of them pay for such things except the fact that it has been less than a year and they insisted on sharing over our objections. BECAUSE we knew this would happen!

Looks like this is my last week with VIPKID. The rumors have a lot of substantiation this time. Usually I'm booked for several classes for next week by today- yet no bookings- virtually no one has any bookings. Now, to decide do I go ahead and move my schedule up with Koreans? Still so many unknowns. will anything come of the VIPKID global? How easy would it be to move my schedule back with Koreans if Global takes off? IDK

Is this about China? I have a friend who is doing ESL with China.

  4. We’re stocking up, keeping in mind weather (we’re up a mountain, 10 miles from our small town), the pandemic, inflation, supply change disruptions, and the effect climate change is having on agriculture. I’m in the process of inventorying what we have and figuring out what we still need. Strange times these are….

Anyone want to share their personal reviews on Who Gives A Crap bamboo tp? I still have lots of their recycled kind but I really don’t like it. I’d rather buy from them though.

I didn’t like it as much as their recycled kind. But give it a try. We love that company. Don’t get the paper towels though; they aren’t very absorbent. Don’t know about the Kleenex. We get the Willow brand of Kleenex at Aldi’s.

  6. We have a jazz drummer. We have rules - a set time when drumming can take place: between 10 am and 8 pm and/or after school work was done. And no drumming before parents are adequately caffeinated. DS lives in the dorm of our local college, so there is a lot less drumming happening here. And, yeah, what were you thinking?! 😀

Given that the last edition of Changing Bodies, Changing Lives was apparently published in the 90's, is it actually still the best option in this area? Like, is a book published before the opioid crisis or before cishet became common parlance actually the right book for this topic or was it just that good?

It’s just that good. I’d look through the book again, but DS took it to college.

Thanks for the input! I'll take a look at the Practice Makes Perfect books.

@Ethel Mertz, do you know of apps that cover grammar? DuoLingo, Mango, and Transparent (the ones I've looked at/use), don't see to explicitly cover grammar.

Definitely DuoLingo. There is plenty of grammar in the tips section of DuoLingo. I also use a conjugation app (ConjuGato). Also, Busuu app.
