I would love to go back to university - actually move into an on-or-adjacent campus residential situation and study all the useless things I’m actually interested in learning about.

Just haven’t figured out what to do with dh. 😂 (jk, he’d be supportive but would not want to move into a dorm 😂)

I have a recurring dream where I move into a dorm situation and go back to school, leaving my husband and kids at home. I have no idea why, as this idea does not appeal to me in my waking hours (if I’m going to live with adolescents, it’ll be the ones I grew myself thanks).

I have one about 75% launched (lives away at college) and 3 at home full time. I’m no longer homeschooling and I’m at a weird crossroads where I don’t know what I would like to do with myself, nor where to start.

  2. This sounds like an Onion article 🤣

Mr Musk, who turns 52 later this month, also tweeted: "I have this great move that I call 'The Walrus', where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing."

  3. We lived with family while we built a house and they had a fridge very similar to the one shown with the external drawer.  It was used to hold soda and cheese/lunchmeat type things.  When our house was built, we bought a fridge that has an internal drawer.  I like my fridge for other reasons*, but I very much miss the external drawer and I wish I had held out for a fridge with one.  The main issue for me is that I have to open both  doors to access that internal drawer so it lets a lot of the cold air out.  We use that drawer a lot.

*If you're wondering, we have an ice maker in the freezer drawer, and one on the fridge ice/water dispenser.  We entertain family a lot and it's awesome having two ice makers.  Plus, the fridge dispenser is a bit too small for some tall water bottles, so we scoop ice into those bottles out of the freezer drawer ice dispenser (which has a handy scoop).

  4. Our state requires a document called a verification of compliance that states they are enrolled and not truant. It’s usually just a brief letter on official letterhead. You might be able to reach the district even if the school office isn’t open.

I have a friend whose cat LOVES to hunt moles and is very good at it.  Maybe she should hire her out.

We have a cat like this too. We had moles professionally trapped every season for years, but when she adopted us it came to a stop.

The good news is moles tend to be territorial, so there’s often only one or two even though your yard may look like you have an army. We had one year where the trapper caught two on our 1/3 acre lot and he was really surprised to find two in such close proximity.

I have had mine done several times. My lidocane has never worked and it hurts like crazy, but I have no brows and it's worth it to me. I've had microblading done 2 or 3 times and it always fade in a few months, so my esthetician suggested the powder brows and those have lasted about 18 months and I could use a touch up. I don't know why mine fade so fast, but I feel like I NEED them!

Do the powder brows hurt less?

  7. I’m seriously considering this for my eyebrows. They are so light and thin that it looks like I don’t have any brows unless I fill them in with makeup. My hairdresser tints them when I get my hair done, but they fade in less than two weeks.

I’m just looking for pros and cons.

  8. What a blessing! Of course a heartfelt thank you note is top of the list. I agree with fruit or a plant if he doesn’t eat sweets. He must think highly of your daughter to give such a substantial gift, and I imagine her happiness and genuine thanks will mean the world on their own.

  9. Costco has stellar customer service and I've been so impressed with my local Costco pharmacy.  They are quick and efficient.  Once they weren't able to fill an Rx I had dropped off until the next day, and one of the techs called me to let me know so I didn't make another trip back to pick it up that day.

  10. I had the 1 gallon too.  The lemon flavor packet that came with it was helpful, but not adequate.  I ended up mixing in lemon crystal light packets (recommended by the colonoscopy place).  My instructions were to drink 1/2 the gallon from 4-6 the night before and then drink the other half in the morning before my procedure.  I drank the first half too quickly and threw up.  The next morning it was all I could do to get some of it down.  I got all but about 8-12 oz of it in, and despite that and the throwing up, I had a good prep.  Just pace yourself with it.  I'll never be able to stomach crystal light lemonade again, LOL.

  11. A friend is looking for a summer math tutor for her rising 7th grader who is struggling. I’m not a formal tutor or teacher, but I do have a bachelors degree that required some upper-level stats courses and I’ve homeschooled math through Algebra 1 for two of my kids and through 7th grade for a 3rd kid. I feel confident in my ability to teach math at this level. I’m not sure how often to meet or what to charge though. Anything else I should be considering before I put myself out there as a candidate?

  12. Will they not have a sink in their room? When my son was in a dorm with a communal bathroom, he had a sink and mirror in his  room. That was also true on a different campus when my girls went for a summer camp and stayed in the dorms.

I was initially thinking green as some of the interior doors I painted evergreen fog and really like it but then thought it would be too Christmas-y??

I don’t think so because the deck is more rusty than a true Christmas red. I immediately thought hunter green when I saw the pics too. Look at that evergreen tree next to your deck. It goes nicely.
