If we can include phrases "Bless your heart" has become a favourite. :D
Rosie
Tonight was the first time I'd heard of budgie smugglers, and after Rosie showed me pictures of people wearing them, all I can say is "Bless their hearts".
-
Woohoo! Now I'm officially in a clique! That's a very good start for a puppy! :D

LOL you're really sweet, but you should have somebody way smarter than me for a mentor. lol I vote for Mrs. Mungo. :) But if you are desperate you can always PM me anytime and I'll do my best to answer you in a way that doesn't make me sound stoopid. ;) :tongue_smilie:
Thanks! I can tell that I will get along with you just fine. I see that you are "The Thread Killer", and I can tell you that I have killed more than a few threads in my time. I posted on a weather forum in their ongoing intro thread a few months ago and killed it. I posted again to try to revive it, but had no luck. I was so embarrassed that I killed it that I went and got some of my friends to go join the forum just so that they could respond to me. They thought I was silly, but they did it anyway.

Oh what a cute puppy you are! I'd adopt you, but I'm positive that you'd be cowering under the bed asking for a new owner after a day or two with me. I have that effect on people for some reason.:confused:
Oh, I'm sure I would love for you to adopt me! I hope it wouldn't be YOU cowering under the bed trying to get away from me. It's always nice to have somebody you can go to for answers without feeling like you have to put your silly questions out in public for everybody to see what a dunce you are. Sometimes I am full of silly questions. :tongue_smilie:
Ayeeyah. Don't listen to her Melody. She's one of the sweetest around here. Unless you've already been put off by the forum game thread, (:P to you, Ms Ibby) you'll be in good hands.:)
Rosie
P.S You've only made me hide under the bed twice in the year or more we've been chatting. :grouphug::lol:
I'm not put off at all! I'm homeschooling my kids long term, so I'm planning to stick around long term as well. I don't mind hiding under the bed from time to time, as long as the dust bunnies don't get the upper hand on me!

I love storms, makes it feel like home.
The pollen here in NC though? Hate it.
I don't mind storms most of the time, but at this time of year they are frequently accompanied by tornadoes, especially if there is hail involved. I hate tornadoes.

ANd I wish someone would have assigned a veteran to me when I first joined 8 years ago. Perhaps I wouldn't have posted 90% of what I post. :tongue_smilie:
This sounds like a great idea to me. As a relative newbie here, I'd like to put out the word that I am available to be adopted! :D

We've already had a couple of episodes of hail here. Typical Alabama spring. The storms are my least favorite part - well, that and the pollen.

Wait, where did you get that smiley? It's a must have!
I couldn't find one, so I made it on a smiley generator site. I thought it was cute.

Wow, she looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing this. :)

It's probably a spammer, or more precisely a spam-bot. This is a very common tactic that they use. They just grab somebody's post and quote it, which makes it APPEAR to fit into the forum, then they throw a link into the siggy and hope that the whole thing will go unnoticed. Spammers are the bane of every forum owner's existence.

That's great! :D

Our cover school is statewide, requires no Statement of Faith, and does not interfere with anything we decide to do. Here is a link to the page which lists the requirements. It's very easy to meet them.
-
Here's a link with some info about the laws in Alabama. There is a link on that site to a list of Cover Schools as well. It's really not hard at all to homeschool here. I'm close to Birmingham as well. You might want to suggest that she check out another forum, alabama-moms.com. There is info there about homeschooling as well. :)

You own that?! Cool!
I've recently started hearing GOOD things about this forum and to go here, not diaperswappers, etc.
That's great! We work really hard to make it a fun, fair place. It's gotten to be a bit more than a CD forum. A lot of people who no longer CD have stuck around and there are a few who don't even have kids at all. It started with diapers though, and the diaper/crunchy community is a big part of the whole thing. You should definitely come check it out, we'd love to have you! :001_smile:

I wouldn't let them go if I felt uncomfortable at all, and in your circumstances I know I WOULD feel uncomfortable. Perhaps if you could get to know the bf better, you might feel easier about it, but it's definitely better to be safe than sorry.
I know exactly what you mean about the toys. My kids aunt goes to McD's and buys the entire collection of their toys fairly often and brings them a big bag of them. She doesn't buy the Happy Meals, just a big pile of toys. Of course the kids like getting them, but they can't play with that many at one time, and they throw them all over the place or break them and I end up trashing them. It is such a waste of her money and my time.

I don't know how many posts I have. I'm just happy to BEE here.
(Yes, I know how bad that is, but somehow I just felt like it needed to be said.)

I own a cloth diapering forum. We have a bunch of great women and a busy For Sale or Trade area. I'd love for you to come over and check it out. It's clothdiapernation.com My username is the same there. If you have any trouble, let me know, and I'll be glad to help you in any way that I can. :001_smile:

:grouphug: Glad you have gotten good news so far. Hope the next Dr. is able to help her more!

I'm praying for your son, and for your whole family. :grouphug:

I'm in Alabama too. Welcome! (and Roll Tide!) :D

I'm so sorry you're hurting! I hope you feel better soon. :grouphug:

That is wonderful! I'm so happy for him, and for you! :grouphug:

I had similar problems when I was in college and was desperately tired for a while. This sounds funny, but eventually, I got one of those tents that goes on top of a twin bed and put it on my bed in my dorm room. It was solid red, so it didn't have any "kid" stuff on it, but it DID stand out. People always looked curiously at it when they passed and our door was open, but it was worth any amount of being gawked at to have a little spot of my own. I would go inside it and zip up the door and either put on headphones or watch my little tv and finally feel like I could relax. (This was before laptops and e-readers, or those would have been there too, I'm sure. lol) When I got ready to go to sleep, it was much easier. It didn't block all the noise, and sometimes I did still wear little foamy earplugs, but it gave me a little "retreat" from the activity that was always going on around me and the light and noise that otherwise I could not control. Maybe you could find him something like that? It might not be the BEST solution, but maybe it would be enough to get him by for the rest of the year.

I changed it so that it's not so confusing any more. I need to be a little more creative in that area.
