This would be neat to paint the top of our school table.

Red blood in a diaper means that the bleeding spot is close to her anus. If it were bleeding from higher up in her intestines it would be black, it would look like tar or coffee grounds. Allergies are the main thing suspected when there is blood present. Could her allergy be something else like corn or soy?

Dh and my wedding anniversary was the 15th. It has been 8 wonderful years. We have had 4 children in 8 years and moved 2 times (lived in 3 different places).

We have a french door with the freezer on the bottom and it is so amazing!!! I don't have the water and ice in the door (it was too expensive) we have a water dispenser inside the fridge and the ice maker in the freezer and it has worked out well for us. Lots of room in the fridge.

Thanks ladies these are great suggestions!
Are you looking for things to do with a baby while your dh is working? Or things to do as a family when he's off?How many days will you be there?
Both, it will just be the baby and I while my husband is in his meetings and I would like some ideas on ways to occupy our time while he is working. We are also looking for ideas on what to do in the evenings while we are there and for the weekend. We will be there a Monday through the following week's Tuesday.

I am going to Boise with my dh on his business trip we will only have the baby with us and I was wondering what would be fun for us to do.

:lurk5: We are starting SOTW 1 this coming year so I would love to hear how others do it. :bigear:

I came to the boards when I first started researching homeschooling and I have lurked for a while though just started posting.
-
We are homeschooling because I want to give them a better education than the public schools around here can.
Have your dc ever been in public school?
My oldest is currently in PS kindergarten. My others are still too young for PS.
Do you plan on sending them to public school?
The plan is too keep them home for the long haul but we aren't so closed minded that we would keep them home if we thought they could benefit from PS.
-
I am going to be using it starting in about 2 weeks. I will let you know how I like it.
-
My oldest has learned D'nealian from the PS so I will probably continue with that once she is at home but I plan on teaching the others using a traditional style instead of D'nealian. I am purchasing this software and plan on making my own handwriting worksheets:

Not here either. I am in Oklahoma and the state gives me nothing and I give them nothing. It's very nice. We are accountable to noone. I kind of like being invisible....:001_smile:
Ditto to what she said.
There's something available in Idaho, too, but I can't remember what it's called. There is some oversight and you get a sum of money per year per child to use on curriculum and other educational things, like the pp said, ballet, karate, etc. I looked into it, and it's really not a lot of hoops to jump through (and we don't have the extra income for my dc to do things like martial arts), but I just didn't want to change how we were doing things. Currently, we don't have to do anything for the state - and I like it that way.I will have to look into that there is a slim chance we could end up in Idaho. Thanks for the heads up!

What do you like?
What do you not like?
-
No worries, I just realized that I had been posting off and on for a while and hadn't introduced myself. :D
-
In OK we have a recommendation of 180 days but nothing is required.
-
Hi I wanted to introduce myself, (so no one would think I was a troll or something ).
I am Amber (obviously) soon to be homeschooling mama to 4 LO's.
The drama queen 6.5 yrs she is starting 1st grade 10-11 school year.
The entertainer 3.75 yrs, she is starting to do some k work (by her request, she wants to learn how to read and do "numbers")
The Daredevil 2yrs She certainly keeps me on my toes
and the little man who joined our family 11/09.
I am here looking for advice and support as we get things started. Can't wait to get to know you all a bit more.
-
I am having a lot of the same issues with my oldest, she will be coming home next year for first grade. She is upset that she won't see her friends anymore. I don't really have any advice, just saying I know what your going through. I am hoping that after we get started and join a homeschool group and maybe a coop that she grow to like it more.

Sounds exactly like how my DD (who is in PS K) is doing. I wouldn't worry.

Campfire potatoes are always a fav for us.
sliced potatoes
chopped bell peppers
chopped onion
bacon (optional)
jalapeno (optional)
toss with oil and salt and pepper
wrap it all in heavy duty aluminum foil and put on a place in the fire where there are some hot ashes and cook until the potatoes are tender.
