I'm sad.
But I think it's the right choice at this time. I hope it will re-establish better family relationships, I really do. It has been difficult having everyone home. :(
Could use some virtual hugs right now and maybe some words of encouragement....

It was a Monday. I'm pretty sure she was at her office which is a 5 minute car ride from the hospital. Why did *you* wait on *her*? ... That's a serious question. It's not an approach I understand.
Well, I said to the nurses: Can't you just catch the baby? No response. So I wasn't going to risk incompetent people catching my baby.

If it was a big deal type of thing that made her late, or if she was at a family reunion 2 hours away from your house, she will remember. If she laughs off the question like it was no big deal, that's something else entirely.

How much notice did she have (from your first serious call to her arrival)? What time of day/night was it? I've had midwives take 45min to an hour to arrive, which I thought was reasonable, given it was the middle of the night.
I arrived at the hospital around 9:30 am and informed her prior to arrival. She was kept updated during my labor, but it was her partner OB who was there already and checked on me once. I gave birth at 11:33 am.

Does she have a backup midwife? If not, or if you only want her, you're probably not going to get a 100% guarantee that she'll be there on time, because she might be with another woman in labor when you want her.
She partners with an OB, but I only see her. It was a small hospital, only one other mom was there in labor and that was the OB's patient.

I would ask.Me, too. And I would make it clear that there is just not going to be any waiting.
Would it not be awkward to ask a year later? What if she doesn't even remember?
-
What was her explanation for her tardiness? If she's just habitually very late, that's a lot different than if she was dealing with a one-time emergency.
Good question. I never asked....

I am seeing the same midwife as last pregnancy this time. I like her, we get along, and she pretty much lets me have my way. The only problem is that she was LATE when I was ready to push. As in I had to wait 20 minutes to push out a baby that was so ready. She was late after being called multiple times and knowing I have quick labors.
My DH hates the fact that she was late and wants me to change midwifes.
WWYD?

Wow, that is pretty rude and insulting. Sorry that happened to you. :grouphug:

Ok, I'm pregnant. 7 weeks today. For the past 2 weeks I have been waking up with pretty bad lower back pain EVERY morning. It also comes around front on my right side. I do not remember this at all from my other pregnancies, at least not until the 3rd trimester. I have an appt this Tues and plan to let my midwife know.
Is there anything I can do about this? I already sleep with a pregnancy body pillow. I was thinking maybe the chiropractor could help? Any ideas what could be causing this so early?

They do make that sound so good: Join the military and you get to go to college for free. Unfortunately the reality is that he'll be so busy, he'll hardly have any time to actually study, take classes.
My dh has been in the Army for almost 13 years. Every once in awhile he talks about starting college. But there is really no way for him to fit it in. He has a crazy schedule right now. And it's not even one where he goes on deployments at the moment.
My SIL joined the Air Force many years ago for college benefits. Never did get that degree finished.
I think most people who join because of college benefits, use them AFTER their commitment is done.

I'm an Army Brat and Army Wife. ;)
I think the military can be a great experience for some people. The benefits mostly outweigh the negatives, IMO. And he doesn't have to stay in forever. :)

My dd wants nothing more than to have her own phone. She has been asking me FOREVER. She loves talking on the phone. I told her today I would talk to dh and see what he says. If yes, it would be her birthday present. I would give her my current phone and of course we would have to have rules.
Questions:
1. Good idea for 11 year olds to have their own cell phones?
2. If your dc has their own phone, what are your rules?
3. Are there parental controls on phones?

Just make sure it fits you car(s). This is good advice for any car-seat. The Maxi Cosi was one of the brands we considered, but it was a very bad fit in both our automobiles. That is not to say it would not work for you.
Bill
Which car seat did you end up going with?
I drive a minivan right now, but the plan is to get a Suburban in the near future.
-
We did for 3 & 4 and will get one for 5. We really like how light the seat is! My 9.10 baby was in it till just over a year. My only complaint was that the cover we had was hand wash. :glare: It also bears mentioning that in order to release the infant seat from the base, the button/latch is on the seat and not the base. It's also a puzzle buckle. Those things are different, but didn't bother us at all.
Good to know, thanks!

If so, do you recommend it? TIA :)

I sold our infant car seat a few months ago, so I'm going to need a new car seat for this baby.
Would you buy an infant car seat used?
-
Would you sell to a buyer whose address says is unconfirmed on the paypal receipt?

I need a new sling. I have a balboa sling that works for me after the baby turns about 2 months, but I can only use it until around 6 months as it hurts my back like crazy. I also have an Ergo, which I love, love, love! :)
So, I've tried the moby and cannot get that thing on. LOL. What else is out there worth getting?
-
We buy dairy, fruits and veggies organic. We also buy organic ground beef and chicken, other meats are not available to buy organic around here. I'm not handy in the kitchen, so I buy organic applesauce, jam, tomato sauce....
We also started gardening this year. We had a ton of tomatoes, some cucumbers and lettuce. The others did not grow as well.

If you have used this, do you feel fractions are clearly explained? I was looking at the sample lessons and it looks somewhat confusing to me.
My dd has had an intro to fractions with Singapore, so I'm wondering if it would be worth it to get MUS Epsilon or maybe I should go with something else? Like maybe LOF or Key to Fractions?
Anyone have any advice?

Nope...A, then Continuation A or B, then Continuation B. However, after using SWI-A you will probably have a good enough feel of the program to use the TWSS and a Guide - like All Things Fun & Fascinating.
Thanks for the clarification. :)
