  1. My very first pregnancy ended in miscarriage at about 10 weeks. I was terrified that I was not going to have any children. We didn't wait long to try again and got pregnant within in two months. I bled at the beginning of tr pregnancy and was positive it was another miscarriage, thankfully my doctor checked my blood levels and everything was good. I had 3 healthy babies since then and yes, I was paranoid with each until the first trimester was over. After the "big" ultrasound knowing that everything was developing as it should I was able to enjoy the pregnancies.

  2. If you can go to all the Disney parks, don't skip any of them! My kids loved Hollywood studios, they have Rockin Roller coaster, tower of terror and our favorite ride: Toy Story, it is so much fun! They also have great shows and Fantastmic show at night. Again, I would recommend all of the parks!

  3. we aren't so worried about her getting sick...with the Dramine, if she doesn't read she doesn't get sick...but that takes a lot of things off the table so to speak...so what I was hoping for were some ideas of what she can do in the car to ward off bordem. thanks.

It's okay to be bored :). She can look out the window and enjoy the scenery. I am mean mom and don't allow TVs in the car, so they have to entertain themselves with their thoughts sometimes. Take snacks, maybe one of those brain quest card thingys, where you read trivia questions and the kids answer, get an audio book everyone can listen to.

  4. I am one who suffers with motion sickness. My poor parents always had me throwing up on every trip growing up. I am use to my husband's driving, so I don't get sick often. (I don't read in the car) But boy I sure feel if I get into a car when someone else is driving or buses or airplanes or trains or boats or rides. I take Meclazene ( not spelled right) and do fine in those situations (mostly). I am afraid there is no magic thing for everyone, you just kind of have to deal.

  5. This is the situation we are in right now. Our kids have had sealants but my dd11's sealant failed on a molar and now might need a root canal. How frustrating! She's had really good teeth. I think she would have been much better off without the sealants.

    Squirrelly,

I am sorry you dealing with this. Do you know what you are going to do?

  6. I am devasted.... I took my daughter to the dentist today for an obvious cavity. I knew it was there. I was trying to heal it naturally and thought it was a baby tooth, but it is a 6 year molar and I guess those are permanant (Yes, I am an idiot).. Ughh..

We have an appt tomorrow at a pediatiric dentist to see their opinion, but our dentist said he believes it is either root canal or extraction. I DO NOT want her to have a root canal. I would rather have it pulled.

Again, I am devasted and just need some advice from someone or hear from someone who has been in this situation..

  7. Ask your husband to go get you some elderberry syrup. It is safe for nursing and with definitely help. Also, ear lots of raw garlic. Don't worry about affecting the milk, I recently read an article that babies drink longer and better when the mom eats raw garlic. Also if you are throwing up, organic coconut oil is good for that. Just eat it by the spoonful, it is safe for nursing as well. Hang in there and rest as much as possible!

  8. I am a Christian to preface this, no, men and women cannot be "friends" if married and they should not especially not be nurturing a friendship with someone of the opposite sex. My husband and I made a decision to not be alone with someone of the opposite sex if possible. It is just a way to protect our marriage. (of course there are a few situations it is unavidoble). I believe you are playing with fire big time by thinking it is fine to go hang out with the neighborman or whoever by yourself when you are married,

  9. I am mid-30s and don't take any medications but I handle stress and anxiety poorly. My period has been out of whack this time. First it was really light spotting, went away and then some what normal but still light and then went away and now I am spotting again for a few days... Ughh.. My breast are tender and I am freaking out. I am not pregnant, my husband and I are both "fixed".

Has anyone had weird periods? Please don't tell me the horror stories or someone had a weird period and then finding out they have cancer or dying or something; my stress is already high... Ughh... Please someone cam me down about this.

  10. I miscarried naturally and it did take awhile and it was tough. I bled horribly and had terribly contractions. That being said I am still glad I did it naturally. I felt amazingly better after I had passed everything and it was over. It felt like a cloud had been lifted. Hang in there, I know it stinks right now.

  11. Those are all good suggestions. I wanted to ad that another thing I did was make a "golden phone ticket" that I made that allowed them to use my phone to play with or watch something. We don't have iPads or any other screen thing for them. It had a certain amount of time and it worked really well because they had to wait and decide when would be best to use it and they got to play with it all by themselves.

Also, I pakes individual bags (huge ziplocks) with new books, activities, snacks for each flight, so it was something new each time. Like my son got a little Lego thing on one flight to put together, a daughter got a small bead kit, stuff like that. Also, I put snacks in the bags that they don't normally get, but like, like Cheetos (I also put little wet wipes in their bags).

  12. I found out this week that our automatic withdrawal into my husbands IRA quit and never restarted months ago (without my husband or my knowledge). Anyways, that got me to really buckle down on staying on top of the money like I should of been doing.

Anyways, just purely out of curiosity and wondering how we compare, about how old are you and husband, how much do you put in your retirement accounts (only retirement, not other savings) each month and how much do you have in them?

We are in our mid 30s, we put about $900 a month in our IRAs and we have about 90k-100k set aside for retirement.
