3 ladybugs
I just turned on my computer for the first time since Saturday. My house is not a complete mess but isn't far from it as we are under restricted water use (EPA check out where I live!!!) However that is better then it was because we were under a boil water and restricted use. So the toilets are all yellow and I don't even want to think of the grime in there. Whatever is next week, can be pushed back, my bathrooms need to be clean. Also I am about to run out of clothes so I have my son helping me with laundry today. I can't restrict my water for a week. This is January. NO ONE is watering their lawns around here. We did get our Berkey water filter on Saturday though. Thankfully just in time for all this nonsense on Monday. I am still very weak, if I move around too much then I spike a fever, but I seem to be doing better. If you read nothing else of what I just said, read this take this flu season seriously!! This is nothing to mess with and it really not fun. I had my flu vaccine as did my children and my DH and we still got hammered with this. My youngest still has a sporadic cough and he was about 5 days ahead of me. And this cough isn't a little cough it sounds like he is coughing up a lung (he is 4). It is awful! Please watch out for elderly and stay safe. I am going to call my 89 year old grandmother today to make sure she is taking precautions. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and thank Beth for helping taking over for the last few days. I should be able to get on here tonight (God willing) and post a daily thread again. I will not be cleaning normally again for a while yet, but updating these threads should be in my ability. mama25angels
3ladybugs-im glad you're feeling somewhat better and I pray things continue to improve. I haven't been in this thread in awhile because I'm trying to make too many changes at once, lol. So, this week, I've been concentrating on the frugal month thread, I've still been keeping the sink shining and getting dressed to socks, we did have to take two days todo some cleaning in the garage to make room for our freezer. We plan to slowly finish it over the rest of this month. Oh and the laundry is done! Now to just do a load or two a day to maintain it. Night Elf
Oh and the laundry is done! Now to just do a load or two a day to maintain it. That's the key I think. I stay on top of things so no job is ever too big. I was looking at the Flylady site and the Weekly Home Blessing hour specifically. In my control journal, I have a weekly list of chores broken down into days. I thought I got that from Flylady but I can't find something similar. I only see her Weekly Home Blessing hour. I don't want to clean my house one day a week. That's too much pressure and what do I do with the other 6 days? I have daily chores like sweeping the house. That needs to be done a few times a week, not every day, so I don't want to add it to my morning or afternoon routines. I also do laundry when it's needed but I have it listed on every day of the week to remind me to check it. I tidy our bathrooms a few times a week when I need more than just a swish or whatever she calls it. So I don't know where I got my daily chore list from but it's working well for me. I've been looking at the baby steps. I'm certainly not doing all of them. That's a lot to try to add in a one month period. I say take what you use and don't worry about the rest. You can always add things in as you feel ready to do so. Flylady wouldn't like my approach to her system :)
3 ladybugs
Laundry and blessing hour are key for me. Tomorrow DH is going across the country and will not be back till Sunday evening, but I will make sure we do the blessing hour, especially if I am well enough to mop. I am going to start a new thread, It may look a bit wonky and feel free to still use this thread since it is so early. :)

Where does she fit in regular daily chores like washing dishes, sweeping the kitchen after meals? Are those put in the routines? I downloaded her app. I like it for the zone cleaning. I edited it to be my own ideas. It doesn't have a place for daily chores though. It only has zones and routines.

My kids are not particularly neat eaters but whatever they drop the dog cleans up so fast that it isn't like they dropped it. I think her goal is to get people to have a clean house, not a perfect one. The washing of dishes Diane in Denmark talks a bit about. You put dishes in the dishwasher as you use them. Anything else you either clean and put away right away, or you do all of them right after dinner before you shine your sink. I looked at the app but I am more a pen and paper gal. :)
