KarenNC
I'm curious about how much social interaction students at Roanoke tend to have with students from other nearby colleges like Hollins, Radford, etc. Do they ever do joint activities, for instance? Terabith
I graduated from Roanoke College in 1998, and I'm taking courses there currently working on my teaching certification. There's not a lot of contact with the other colleges. I think there are a couple pe classes that Roanoke and Hollins do jointly, but that is more the exception than the rule. Radford is more than an hour away. It would be challenging for regular joint activities, and Roanoke is not a heavy car campus, although I think it's more of one now than it was 20 years ago.
Terabith
And just to throw this out....Roanoke College's scholarship weekend is awesome! I actually won the Beard Scholarship that covered tuition, room, and board.
KarenNC
And just to throw this out....Roanoke College's scholarship weekend is awesome! I actually won the Beard Scholarship that covered tuition, room, and board. I wish. Unfortunately, we just attended the scholarship day this past weekend and they said several times that even if you were awarded more than one scholarship from them, RC money would not go beyond full tuition (not even including fees). The highest they mentioned was the Bittle, which provides full tuition, and the Beard isn't listed on their possible scholarships page. The Beard is still mentioned in the current catalog as being an exception to the not beyond full tuition rule. It would be awesome if that is still available, as the admissions folks and her interviewer really seemed to like her and it's currently her top choice school if the finances can be worked out.
