school year is ending

Recommended Posts

Last year of logic stage 8th grade and I feel like I didn;t get to a lot of curriculums/subjects I wanted to cover.

Next four years they will be rather loaded with a-g courses with our charter school.

I having them wrap up by July

Analytical Grammar

Grammar of Poetry

Derek Owens Physical Science

Math in Focus 3

and Art of Argument.

Anything I should absolutely have them do before sending them off to high school a-g courses?

Have they done any study skills work? That might be really useful if they are going from a homeschool setting to a more traditional school setting.  My dd has done several things this year in 8th which I think will be very helpful for high school:

Great Course - How to be a Superstar Student

What Smart Students Know - Adam Robinson

The Science of Everyday Thinking - edX

and last year she did

Learning How to Learn - Coursera

A Mind for Numbers - Barbara Oakley

Can you tell me more about Coursera and how it works? Did your daughter audit this course? A course for purchase? Is it the same as "How to be a Superstar Student"?

Thanks for the resources!

Coursera has free online college-level courses. Some are scheduled, some are self-paced. Here is a link to the course and more info about it and Coursera:

My dd audited the class, in that we did not pay for a certificate of completion. But she participated fully.
