Not a big unit study kinda girl, but I think that is what I'm looking for. Just like a 2 week thing for 3rd & 5th grade. Anything out there? I don't know what kind of unit study sources are out there.....

ETA: Something I could download would be great!

It wouldn't be hard to create your own, especially since you're only wanting a couple of weeks.

Read aloud The Sword in the Stone, by T.H. White. Have your dc figure out whether or not a sword could really be stuck in a stone. Have them make their own swords and shields.

Read this article about knights. Have your dc (or at least your older dc) look up the meanings of the virtues; also look up "chivalry." For a day, choose one of those virtues and try to practice it all day.

Read "Castle" by David Mccaulay. Read through that. Maybe have your dc build their own castles with Legos. Or sugar cubes. Or boxes in the living room. :-)

Ellie's right: it's probably easiest to make your own.

However, there are a couple of lapbooks at Homeschoolshare (both for free) that you could use as guidelines as needed:

This one has 2 different levels

This one is based on the Magic Tree House reference book (but the templates look general enough that any good book from the library would do)

Currclick also has several unit studies and lapbooks for knights and castles.

ETA:

at one point: watch first to determine if it's appropriate for your kids.
