Ambrosia
Which one is a better supplement? I've read here that CAP doesn't teach outlining, how to create paragraph , etc. We will just be starting CAP 1 & 2 this fall. Thank you!
Ambrosia
Also, is there diagramming in TC?
RootAnn
I can only speak of TC. No diagramming. The grammar work is mostly in the first (of three) sections and it is parsing vs. diagramming. My kids are used to diagramming & found TC's way of labeling much more useful and easy to do. I used TC as a program on its own vs. a supplement. One of mine will move into CAP's W&R Narrative 2 this fall. CAP does teach outlining, but some people have found how they teach it to be unhelpful, confusing, or other. Aurelia
I would do TC, then CAP, or Fable, then TC, then Narrative 1. TC teaches things like outlining and paragraph writing much better than CAP.
Ambrosia
Thank you to both responses. I am really interested in TC after reading reviews that it will teach a child to outline and create paragraphs. My plan is to use it in between Fable and Narrative. I also have the IEW ATFF on hand (a gift) and I would want to know if it teaches outlining and creating paragraph as easy or understandable as TC. If not, then I will just purchase TC and ditch ATFF. Ambrosia
I purchased TC and I am satisfied! With the thorough guidance of the TM, I feel confident teaching my kids compared to how I would feel teaching ATFF.
