scrapbookbuzz
My daughter is 14 years old and struggles with dysgraphia, dyslexia, and Asperger's Syndrome. Yesterday we went to see a play of Shakespeare's Hamlet. She likes Shakespeare, as do I, and so I try to take advantage of these opportunities. We were gone from 0820 to 1430 (2:30) and then did our planned C25k workout at 3:30/4:00. Today I haven't even had her do any school yet and already she's blown a gasket! We're slated to go to another production in two weeks but if it's going to mean two days of the week out of school when we're already somewhat behind, I'm not sure it's worth it. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Anyone else get tired of the meltdowns?
MomatHWTK
It can be exhausting and comes with any change in routine. :( I need to get us back on a steady schedule or I'll be in the same boat soon.
Tiramisu
I'm very, very, very tired of them. I'm quite ready to have a meltdown myself.
Clarkd
We are on vacation. We have moments of fun, followed by exhausting melt downs...yesterday I carried one (45 lbs. of screaming) kiddo out of downtown disney...it is so hard sometimes. We rent the same house down here each year, but the repitition about where are we going, what happens next, when can we go home. Oy! I do think it is important to have these experiences, even when they cause difficulties. I see their world expand. In the short run it is frustrating and feels like losing ground, but in the long run, the real life skills they learn through these novel experiences are significant. It is a marathon not a sprint. I think the play is worth it. Peace and strength to you.
