kimmyandgracie
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this thread, but I am reading The Well Educated Mind and I would really like to find an online reading partner to go through the reading lists in the book with me and have a regular discussion of them, either through e-mail or IM. If anyone is interested, please let me know. Thanks.
Rosie_0801
Oh, if you'd asked a few weeks ago I'd have said YES because I wanted a study buddy too. Now I'm pregnant and going to be tired and dippy for the next 18 months, so I'm not going to be much use. Hope you find someone! mommybee
I would so love to say yes, but I've been stuck on Don Quixote for two years now. Although I have considered just skipping it and moving on to the next selection. So I guess I'm saying Maybe, that sounds like fun.
outtamyshell
Hmmm.... I think the hard part about finding study buddies is everyone is studying different things. I would love a study buddy, but I am following the list of books my daughter is reading for Classical Conversations, Challenge II. I try to read the books before she does, or at least stay ahead of her. So I let their schedule dictate the books I read as well as the pace. While I'm planning to use TWEM as part of our studies, I don't know how well our book list fits in with TWEM... I'm just getting started on our planning. I really want to integrate blogging into our literature study. My goal was to get started this summer as there is so little time during the year, but I'm already behind. They go through their books pretty quickly at Classical. Here's our book list for next year... Beowulf Sir Gawain Canterbury Tales Paradise Lost Passage to India Tale of 2 Cities Out of the Silent Plante Screwtape Letters Morbid Taste for Bones Robinson Crusoe Pride & Prejudice Jane Eyre Pilgrim's Progress Gulliver's Travels Something Beautiful for God Alice in Wonderland Father Brown Stories The Hobbit Animal Farm If reading some of these together interests you let me know. I would love a study buddy or two. Michelle
kimmyandgracie
outtamyshell, did you get my PM? I just wanted to make sure it went through. mommybee and outtamyshell, I would be glad to have either (or maybe both) of you as study buddies. I could start by the middle to end of this week. Would either of you want to try it out for a book and see how it goes? I feel like it might have been better to have this discussion via PM, but I'm not really sure if my PM option is working correctly. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks for your time and consideration.
