HollyVanH
Before I began homeschooling my daughters I taught freshman writing at USC for 10 years and I've begun a series of posts on writing for homeschoolers. Part 1 is here: http://www.knittedthoughts.com/2010/11/writing-skills-for-homeschoolers.html Today's post includes lots of practical ideas for working with even the littlest writers. I hope you find it useful!

Guest CarolineUK
Thank you so much for this! Writing is something I constantly worry about with my boys, they don't particularly like it and I struggle to think of ways to make it easier, less painful, more fun. You've really inspired and motivated me. I'll keep watching your blog :D.

HollyVanH
If anyone could put this on a new forum, I'd really appreciate it. Today's post is more geared towards teens and I'd like to reach as many parents as possible, but don't know how to do it. The link to my newest post is: http://www.knittedthoughts.com/2010/11/express-yourself-writing-with-kids.html Thanks so much, Holly

HollyVanH
Hi Everyone, I thought since this was a group interested in writing projects for homeschoolers, I'd show off what my Creative Writing class of 12 homeschoolers accomplished this semester as a project -- 12 full length novels!!! For more details, see: http://www.knittedthoughts.com/2011/01/homeschool-student-novels.html It's amazing what you can accomplish with a few hardworking kids -- this opened up whole new writing horizons for them and gave them TONS of confidence in their writing abilities!
