HollyDay
I had to pitch my old waffle maker - the teflon was chipping. What is a good one to replace it?
StacyWithFourRugrats
I can not say enough about our Villaware Uno Waffle maker. It was recommended by Alton Brown. We use his Luft Waffle recipe to make Belgian Waffles and they are to die for! It runs a little high in my opinion ($50+ on Amazon) but it is well worth it.:)
KristineIN
I have an older square cast iron reversable (the other side can be a flat griddle) waffle maker and I've had it for YEARS! If I could choose, I would go with a Belgian style, but really the four square cast iron, is probably a better way to go. This is similar: http://www.cooking.com/products/shprodde.asp?SKU=580435 If money is an issue, I would check freecycle or Goodwill. Faithseed
http://www.amazon.com/Waring-WMK300-Belgian-Brushed-Stainless/dp/B00009K3SY/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1201102702&sr=8-1 I thought I would have a heart attack when DH bought it.....very expensive (to me), and only makes one waffle at a time. At the first bite, I was hooked! We've easily make hundreds of waffles in the couple of years that we've had it, and it is still going strong. Also, you can use a regular waffle recipe with it- it doesn't have to be a belgian recipe.
Brigitte
http://www.amazon.com/Waring-WMK300-Belgian-Brushed-Stainless/dp/B00009K3SY/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1201102702&sr=8-1QUOTE] I bought ths same one for the dorm from Sam's for $50. It works great. At home, I have a Krups which is similar to the Villaware and that has worked well for me. All my wafflers have been Belgian waffle irons, since I am Belgian. So, if you are looking for the other style (American??? waffle iron), I am no help. ;)
