Melissa in St Louis
Ok, so changed the spark plug and the oil and now the pull-cord won't pull to allow the engine to start. How do I fix this????? It feels "stuck," but doesn't seem to be stuck on anything..... TIA!!!!
ChristyB in TN
I hate that. Are you sure it is primed? Mine won't start unless we hit that little primer button a million times. Also, try starting in uphill, downhill, etc.
Melissa in St Louis
Interesting. I know there is a little black button that is "pushable" but doesn't really seem to DO anyting....starting uphill and downhill...all good ideas that will happen in the morning! I'm whooped!:tongue_smilie:
Shenan
Either your engine has seized up or there is a safety bail that has to be pulled down in order to pull the cord....i.e. the extra squeezie handle on the mower handle.... HTH,
Renee in NC
It may just be that your recoil is locked up. Unscrew the screws that hold the recoil on (where the pull rope comes from) and see if it is broken inside. Sometimes it just gets hung up - if you take it off and pull the rope all the way out and then back again, it may work again. If not, take it to a small engine repair shop and get an ESTIMATE. Unless it is a good brand (iow not bought at a box store) it may not be worth fixing.
