? for those whose kids do theater...

Recommended Posts

Have him read aloud every day -- occasionally "new" things, but also old familiar favorites so he can practice reading with feeling and proper inflection. Get him lots of books on tape read by great actors and actresses, and have him listen, read along with them, and then read aloud on his own.

Don't worry about letting him read the same things over and over -- that will build confidence and fluency and give him the chance to play with interpretation.

But make sure he doesn't let a day go by without reading *something* out loud. It's one of those times when endless practice really *does* help.
