Have you checked out Positive Action for Christ Bible Curriculum? My dd is doing Wise Up this year, a study based in the Proverbs and focused on wisdom applied in different relationships or areas of your life. There are others to choose from as well. They are geared toward learning the word of God in order to let it change our lives. You can see samples on the site.

Thank you for posting this, it looks fantastic! I'll be using Wise Up next year with my 2 kiddos.

Have you looked at "How Shall We Then Live" by Francis Shaeffer? Book or DVD with study guide. It's a historical overview of various time periods and how the Christians did or did not enter into the wider culture with effectiveness. We are watching it now and we are so touched by what a servant heart Francis Shaeffer conveys. It is a wonderful program on many different levels.

This looks GREAT! Thank you so much!! Do you use the teacher's manual or do you just do the student book?

I did buy the TM but I really have not used it. It does have all the answers though, discussion ideas to flesh out the program (some are geared toward a classroom), quizzes, and a memory verse chart. I have not used the discussion and quizzes. I am really just trying to instill a habit of Bible study along with teaching her that the Bible is actually relevant to her life right now. I didn't want to "correct" her work. I wanted her to feel comfortable being honest in her answers of personal application (like a diary/journal) without thinking, "Mom is going to be reading this."

I can figure out the answers if she is having trouble understanding what they are trying to get at with a particular question, and we already have a weekly memory verse program at church so I don't have her do both. Next year, I don't think I will get it. I think we will try Dynamic Christian Living and I am thinking of getting the 6th grade book for ds.

Hope this helps!
