St. Theophan Academy
I am trying to find something fun for a co-op group - we are reading Marguerite makes a Book, and we have already in the past mixed our own paints. Any good projects out there other than just decorating fancy letters? Thanks!
Harriet Vane
The priests in the Middle Ages used to copy the Bible--could you have the kids do a Bible verse? If not that, perhaps a poem segment from that time period?

texascamps
My kids did a bible verse in the "illuminated manuscript" style. I first got out some of my old Art History books and then some books on the subject from the library so they could copy the style and understand the color aspect. I bought parchment paper and a small amount of gold leaf. They did about 5 versions over and over until I felt it was their best work. (The first couple of tries looked like they just wanted to finish and go watch TV.) Then we worked with the gold leaf. If I could ever get my blog up I'd post them. One of the best projects we ever did. I'd like to do it once a year as their drawing skills improve.
