oschool8 Posted June 16 Share Posted June 16 Hello. My 9-yo has done Writing With Ease level 2 this year, and has also just done some independent creative writing, not directed by me. This coming year she will be using IEW through CC’s Essentials program; however, I am afraid it may stifle her creativity, because she is by nature a very creative person who loves crafts, music, writing, etc, and enjoys writing stories and poetry on her own. I am wondering what opinions are regarding perhaps an additional creative writing course to balance out IEW, or perhaps stick to just continuing letting her do that independently? The thing is, I want her to develop strong skills in all kinds of writing, including creative writing. I know she can definitely improve on her creative writing skills. Any thoughts? Thank you.
