OnceUponAFullMoon
According to Lewelma's post from long ago, the best curriculum for Invention (generating original ideas) is Lost Tools of Writing. Is it still the case? I kept re-reading the samples but cannot wrap myself how to teach it.
cintinative
I love the ANI method that is used in this curriculum, and the overall outlines for the set up of the papers is good. But we found this went very slow, and also there was not a focus on varying your sentences or the actual work that goes into the "flow" element of a paper. Apparently style elements are covered later? So if I had it to do over, I would add in a lot more of that sentence variation and style bit. It's hard because all we ever used was IEW and LTOW before we started with Potter's school, so I am not sure what else to recommend. I don't like IEW's persuasive paper format. I am not sure what age your kid is, but I have heard good things about The Argument Builder, which is a CAP product and is supposed to produce a type of persuasive paper.
