alpinegrace
Hey all, I know there is someone here who has gone through Ordinary Parents Guide very quickly with their kid/kiddos. I was curious if you have, how old was your child and about how many lessons per day did you do? What was the reasoning behind it? Would you do it again? My DD is in 3rd and a decent reader. She reads beginner chapter books, but I feel like she guesses a lot at words. She is still a little choppy when reading. She was initially a very reluctant reader and we switched curriculums quite a bit trying to find something that she would click with. I think I should have stuck with OPGTR from the beginning, but it is what it is now. We started OPGTR a few months ago and she is nearly to lesson 90. I would like to finish the book by the time she’s in 4th grade, so that would be 3 months from now. Any advice?
Green Bean
Don’t rush her. Let her keep being successful at her pace however long that may be. That is my best advice.

Foofaraw
Fast Track by Sound Foundations has really helped my daughter maintain a habit of decoding vs. guessing at new/bigger words.
sweet2ndchance
I'm also in the 'don't rush her' camp. It will only frustrate both of you and possibly slow down her progress rather than speed it up.
