Busy and prosperous small publisher of education titles for K-12 is looking for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Publishing Manager to oversee print runs, production schedules, and general smooth office functioning.

Duties include: 

 

• Tracking book inventory and scheduling reprints as needed (includes corresponding with printers, getting quotes, submitting corrections, signing off on paper weight/dimensions/other details, etc.).
• Managing book metadata (purchasing and assigning ISBN barcodes, filling out copyright applications, entering and updating information into our book production management system, etc.)
• Supervising office operations (security system, phone and Internet systems, office equipment, etc.)
• Overseeing warehouse stock and coordinating transfers between warehouses
• Placing orders with vendors 
• Answering customer queries via our Customer Service platform (approximately 5-8 hours per week; includes, but not limited to, coordinating and tracking school licensing purchases)
•  Organizing and maintaining office files (invoices, quotes, other paperwork), office copies of titles, and office systems (electronic files)

The ability to learn and manage computerized data systems is absolutely necessary. Knowledge of publishing business is a plus but not necessary. Working knowledge of Quickbooks another advantage but not required. Must be self-motivated and not require constant supervision. Publishing Manager will work closely with the Sales Director and Director of Operations to assure smooth functioning of the business.
