Veritaserum
Have any of you flipped through/read these? Sense and Sensibility Pride and Prejudice I'm wondering about getting them for dd8 for independent reading.... I'm feeling ok about introducing basic plots of classics with adaptations for children as groundwork for studying the real thing at an older age. I also found these easy reader adaptations of a number of other classics.
katie5
I'm not sure about these. There is a decent Pride and Predjudice in the Great Illustrated Classics series. My 9 year old loved it last year. HTH
Veritaserum
I'm not sure about these. There is a decent Pride and Predjudice in the Great Illustrated Classics series. My 9 year old loved it last year. HTH Does that mean it's illustrated? :) I think it would help if there were pictures. Of course, I have a couple of unabridged copies already, but they don't have pictures. Maybe I'll just do these as Read Alouds. I love Austen, anyway. :)
katie5
In the Great Illustrated Classics series, there is a picture on every 2nd page. The left side is text and the right is a picture. The spirit of the story was intact and at a level where my daughter really understood the main story. I love Jane Austen! :)
