fourisenough
We just finished a fabulous 8-week live online class studying the American Girl Felicity via Outschool with a darling instructor, Monica Kelly. My DD has loved every minute of it and it really brought some life into our study of the colonial era and the American Revolution. We read and discussed all six books, did some art projects, studied vocabulary, had a birthday tea party, and chose from a list of final projects. It was a lot of bang for the buck and way more fun to do with other motivated kids. Next week, the teacher will begin a new 8 week class on Kirsten and the westward expansion/pioneer era circa 1854. If anyone is interested in joining the class, here’s a link. https://outschool.com/classes/us-history-thru-the-eyes-of-the-american-girl-dolls-meet-kirsten-aoPg3a2s#usDy2Ijqlq I have no ‘horse in this race’, we’re just very satisfied customers and wanted to share about our experience! Hope this helps someone inject a little fun into their American history studies this fall/winter! Here’s a picture of my DD doing a live re-enactment of the moment Felicity snuck into the paddock to ride the abused horse Penny. We used this for part of our final project.
