Omma
My friend who has no time due to a couple of dc having cystic fibrosis wanted me to check out Virtual Homeschool Group for her youngest who would be taking Saxon 5/4 Math AYOP (At Your Own Pace). She wants to know if this could be an option for her this fall if she has little free time to 'volunteer' or how does the volunteer part work. Feel free to share any other aspect of your experience with this group as well. Thanks, Brenda
scoutingmom
You don't need to volunteer to use the AYOP courses, just the live ones. If they want a live course, they need to teach a class, or make a donation. You can also volunteer to do marking, but because of people not filling commitments, volunteering for marking this year makes you eligible for the live class NEXT year. But again, AYOP courses do not require anything.
scoutingmom
Oh, and deadline for volunteering and ealy seating for live classes is tomorrow, July 31, and the organizers will be extremely busy finishing things up. Aug 1st, if there are any available spots in live classes left, you can sign up for their spot lottery. Last couple of years there were few to no spots left though.
