For example in 1st grade it will have words with long a spelled with a-e, then next week ai, then ay. All say the long a sound, but are grouped phonetically. In 4th grade I know they had ei snd ie, silent letters like gn or kn, ect. You can look at the table of contents to see what sll us covered each year.
