Gamom3
Is there a site that has ideas, book or are do you just have a creative writing mind?
Beth in Central TX
I use The Socratic List in Appendix A of Teaching the Classics: A Socratic Method for Literary Education by Adam Andrews. Obviously, we do most of this orally, and I'll continue that as we move through our literature studies. However, I also use the questions for writing ideas, and I'll do that more as their writing skills and literary knowledge increase.
Midwest Momma
You can do a search for "writing prompts" and even search by grade level. http://www.google.com/search?q=%22writing+prompts%22+grade+6&rls=com.microsoft:*:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7GGIH
