Guest
Has anyone gone through the certification process? ETA: I think I mean just becoming a "registered instructor" Edited April 21, 2017 by Guest

mama25angels
yes. It's not too difficult. Watch the videos, do the assignments, send in all the paperwork. There are some checklists on their site of everything you have to turn in and the people at the IEW Instructors yahoo group are helpful and have a file about it. It's pretty straight forward. I let it lapse, so I am working on it again this Summer with the new videos. Once you are a registered Instructor you have to do X number of hours of continuing education every two years. Christina, do you teach the program?
Vida Winter
I've been teaching IEW with a co-op this year and am thinking of getting the certification this summer. It would be fairly easy after all the work I've put in already.
Mom27kidz
So what does certification get you exactly?? I mean if you can already teach it ( if you've used it for a few years on your own kids or at s co op). Will places pay you then to teach it???
Vida Winter
It would allow you to say you are certified to teach IEW -- you would still need to find your own students. Some places may pay more attention to you if you are certified. I was not planning on teaching groups of kids - the certification would just be something I would do to challenge myself. (I already teach IEW at a co-op).
mama25angels
Yes. At two local co-ops. You can't advertise using the IEW name and logo unless you are accredited through them, and it gets you on their list of teachers, which is how several of my students found me. Do you take students online? How much do you charge?
