Kiara.I
I'd wait to add spelling. Maybe it's a personality thing but we tried adding spelling in Kindergarten once. Then we stopped. And waited until grade 2. And in grade 2 it went fine. You could try it, I know some people add it earlier and it goes okay. Yes, you could add FLL, it's fine for that age. How about art, or music? You could start doing listening to classical pieces while colouring, or something.
Momof3plus
Thanks Kiara, I'm glad to hear that about FLL. I think I may be getting ahead of myself regarding spelling, especially since we're only half way through his phonics programme 🙈. Just out of interest, what did you use for spelling? I've been considering AAS but I don't want anything too teacher intensive, my boy needs instructions once, he gets bored listening to me and zones out if I 'teach' too much! Hence we switched from Right Start maths to Math Mammoth! Art is always on the go in our house, he's very creative!
