kalusignan
For those of you who've used both Elemental Science Chemistry for the Grammar Stage and Physics for the Grammar Stage. Which one did you like better? Why? We completed Biology in first grade, did a year of interest-based science and nature study in second grade, and are now doing Earth Science and Astronomy (loving it so far) in third grade. I want to do a year of physical science for fourth. Option 1 Chemistry for the Grammar Stage + reading through The New Way Things Work Option 2 Physics for the Grammar Stage + ??? Thoughts on this? kalusignan
bump I was really hoping to hear from those that have used both. I've used both Biology and Earth Science and Astronomy and definitely prefer Earth Science. I was curious if others have preferred one over the other - Chemistry or Physics? tmstranger
We are using Earth Science (Logic), so sorry, no experience with the others...but I'll bump it for you! I know that BYL uses Chemistry in year 7, so maybe try their facebook page if you don't get any help here.
AdventuresinHomeschooling
I haven't used Chemistry, but we did use some of their physics. There were some writing assignments, such as an report on Thomas Edison. We did one of them, but skipped some of the others. The overall framework was good, and we liked the projects. One thing they suggested was a rocket launch, but I found out that we are not allowed to launch them in our county, so that was a bummer. I think I like it over chemistry from the preview of chemistry, but I am not a huge chemistry fan in general. We are using RS4K for Chemistry this year. It's only ten weeks. A whole year of chemistry is overwhelming to me.
