Reverse osmosis water filter

Would one of these remove hard water deposits? If so, can it be installed to work on my kitchen sink?

We have hard water and my husband installed a water softener about 5 years ago. The water softener really dries my hair out. Most likely, the settings aren't right, but because my husband installed it himself, there is no one local to service it and the company he bought it from isn't helpful. I don't want to spend the money on a professionally installed system, but I have got to figure out a way to work around this softener and the hard water.

Also, we have well water and I was thinking a filter might not be a bad idea anyway.
