Haiku
My six year old daughter is in the other room busily writing away in her notebook. I can hear her sounding out what she writes. So far she has painstakingly spelled out, "The sun is a mass of incandescent gas, a gigantic nuclear furnace ..." Tara

fsunolefan
I taught this song to my kids in preschool. It is still fun to hear them stumble over some of the words. They Might Be Giants had a nice cover of this song when I was in high school. It is now on my girls ipods as "science".
Haiku
If she knows what the means, well, good job mom! Mine would be yelling from the other room "Mooooooooooommm, how do you spell 'incandescent' " and humming. Then I would have to quickly run it on my ace spell checker because I have no idea. She knows what it means, but she can't spell it. I haven't peeked yet, but it sounded to me like she was spelling it "in-can-doesn't." :D Tara
