lorisuewho
I want to combine my boys. They are both strong academically and going into 3 and 4th grades. I'm certain that the younger could handle grade 4 material. However, I already own Rod and Staff Grammar grade 3 and I don't own 4. Is there a big jump in material or do you think one is as good as the other for this age group? I am planning to do CAP W&R Fable and Narrative with the boys as our writing, so mainly I'm looking for grammar. Thank you.
ALB
As far as concepts go, I don't think the jump is all that huge. The writing does get more focus and is more difficult, but if you're skipping the writing parts I'd say you're fine! From what you say about your younger child, he would probably do fine with it. You can always tailor the amount of written work to their abilities, which I'd do anyway no matter what level.
