mindygz
My 12 yo daughter has been doing writing with a tutor and it's been going well. This year it has mostly been working on a fan fiction project, but I'm looking for some assignment-type curriculum so she can work on other skills as she gets this finished up. We have done Writing Strands in the past, and she did WWE up through 4, but WWS was a bust for her (that was when we moved over to Writing Strands). I'm wondering what other writing programs there are out there that would fill the niche I am looking for. We follow quite a bit of Brave Writer stuff and I am looking into her Help for High School program for next year's projects. Any suggestions? She is using Easy Grammar Plus for grammar this year. I mostly just want some assignments/guidelines that will cover some of the other types of middle school writing. Thanks!
SilverMoon
My kids have thoroughly enjoyed Cover Story this year. It's dvd driven, and covers a range of writing types, non-fiction and fiction. Jump In is another one. It's an inexpensive work text. Neither is secular.
