stephanier.1765
Google isn't really answering my question because most of the info I can find is several years old. My son was just diagnosed but his girlfriend says she had a vaccine can't get it. I just want to make sure she won't get sick. Thanks
peachskittles
Not that I know of...My sister, who gets all the vaccines for her children, was upset that there wasn't a vaccine for mono (her 6 year old son was recently diagnosed).... Quick check on the CDC website "There is no vaccine to protect against EBV infection. You can help protect yourself by not kissing or sharing drinks, food, or personal items, like toothbrushes, with people who have EBV infection." http://www.cdc.gov/epstein-barr/about-ebv.html
xixstar
Maybe she confused it with the meningitis vax.
redsquirrel
No, she must be thinking of something else.
stephanier.1765
Thanks. I was thinking she was confused too but she was so adamant that I started doubting. Now I can hopefully make sure they don't swap spit for a while.
Tohru
A group of children all got mono from eating birthday cake after the one infected person blew out the birthday candles.
