Hunter
Have we ever talked about Benjamin Greenleaf's Arithmetics here? Over the years, I dabbled in so many vintage maths, that I have lost track of what I have used and not used. The Greenleaf books have comprehension question like those in the OLD (older than the Mott Media ones) Ray's books. It looks like the Greenleaf arithmetic series from the 1870/1880's is a 3 book sequence: New Primary, New Elementary, New Practical. New Intellectual Arithmetic is a supplementary mental/oral arithmetic book. Then there is a higher maths series: New Elementary Algebra, New Higher Algebra, and some geometry and trig books. The jump from Greenleaf's practical arithmetic to the algebra book looks smoother to me, than the transition of Ray's. And I like the comprehension questions at the bottom of almost every lesson.
