librarymama
I'm creating a wishlist in Amazon so that I can begin to build a good library of science books for my children over the next year. Would anyone be willing to share their family's favorite science books for K-6? Some of my favorites which we already own are: Let's Read and Find Out About Science series DK Encyclopedia of Animals Blood and Guts (gross name, great book) A Really Short History of the Nearly Everything The New Way Things Work
SilverMoon
My girls (4th and 1st) are enjoying Getting to Know Nature's Children. I found our set at thrift stores. rochenan
Pretty much anything by Jim Arnosky. Hook, Line and Seeker Crinkleroots The Brook Book Thunderbirds Tooth&Claw Slither & Crawl Creep & Flutter... my boys spent an hour drawing spiders after reading this book. There are coloring pages on his site that can go with his books if I remember correctly. SilverMoon
Oh! Galileo for Kids, Wright Brothers for Kids, Solar System for Kids, Isaac Newton for Kids, and so on. We were just introduced to them this summer. They're meaty and engaging, with gobs of full color pictures. They'd be for the upper end of that age range.
