Can I take ds for a haircut?

I've been wanting to get ds's hair cut. Short hair would be very convenient right now.

 

On Friday evening ds fell and whacked his head on a table cutting his ear. He has 4 stitches in it.

 

Can I take him for a haircut? Should I just take the clippers and deal with the hair that's bugging him? Maybe cut around both ears?

Depends on stitches location and the sensitivity of the barber in question.  A good professional will be careful to work around such spots.  Now, finding one like that is another story.  I've had good and I've had bad.

The injury is in a very hard spot to work around, but if the barber cleared that ear first, ds could relax. It was very hard to wash his hair last night (ER said wash with mild soap and water and keep bacitracin on it).

 

He also got his head good behind the ear and is sore there, so I hesitate to bring out the clippers. But if I take scissors to his head, it may look terrible especially if he only lets me clear that ear. Lol.

It's worth checking out.  I've had barbers work around stitches where I had moles removed, so it can be done.  Do you already have a regular place you trust?

Ds isn't a regular haircut kid. His hair grows, we cut it off, grows again, I pull out the clippers. He goes many months between cuts.

 

I just called the barber shop who answered to say that they're closed until next Friday.

 

I'm not sure I want to take him to Walmart because I've never known them to be gentle.

 

I think we're out of luck.
