JustEm
Anyone with knowledge regarding auto insurance. As you may recall a car drove into the storefront of my dh's work. For the property damage the driver is insured for $15,000. So this will somehow be split between the property owner and my dh's business. This should cover the damage but not compensate them for the loss of business. Would loss of business be under the car's property liability or something else? They will not go after the driver personally if her insurance doesn't give them compensation.
Dandelion
Does your DH have a commercial insurance policy covering his business? If yes, your DH's business insurance should kick in and cover whatever losses aren't covered directly by the driver's insurance company (assuming he has more than just liability coverage). His insurance company can then decide whether it's worth going after the driver (her insurance company or her personal assets) to recover whatever they pay out. JustEm
No they just have liability. Property owner's insurance may cover all his loses so the business gets everything from car insurance but that hasn't been figured out yet.
