Looking for curriculum suggestions for a friend.  Daughter has possible dyslexia.  What are some video-based science and history curriculum that would be appropriate for an 8th grader?  She has been in PS up until now and will probably return to PS for high school.

Thanks

Teaching Company High School Level World History or US History- the prof dresses up in outfits. Some kids think it is kind of corny, but it gets the job done. They are both on sale now for $79.95.

Other than David Attenborough videos and stuff from animal planet and the discovery channel, we never found any wonderful science videos to use with my oldest. My youngest is currently using Derek Owens for math, and I really like the way it is set up. So, if she is ready for physical science, Derek Owens my be a good option.

I have also wondered about The Joy of Science from Teaching Company. It may be great, but it may be too much.

And other things you didn't ask for-

Cozy Grammar from Splashes from the River

MUS- let her watch the videos

Sister Wendy art videos

When my ds was about that age, I bought IEW TWSS and ds and I just went through the lectures together doing whatever the teachers are supposed to do for training.
