tvaleri
Looking for input on Art of Problem Solving Math Curriculum. Ds, 14, wants to use this instead of another math program. He is very astute at math, but will need to work independently for the most part. Thoughts? Smiles, Teresa
Candid
It is designed to be done totally independently, if he is a faithful guy and likes math, he will do well with this. With my oldest I totaled up the number of lessons in the book and figured out what he needed to do each day to finish the book. He turned in his work and I graded it. My only real beef is the solution manual occasionally makes it difficult to find their answer, sometimes they use bold, sometimes box an answer in, sometimes do nothing. regentrude
The books are written to the student. We have been using the entire series from Intro to Algebra through calculus. My kids work largely independently. The solution manual has worked out solutions to all exercises and is very useful.
