Guest StatsKels
Hello! I am doing a project on whether recreational inclusion programs (sports teams, summer camps, after-school programs, etc. that include special needs children) are helpful in improving behaviors and creating more positive attitudes in other social settings. If you have a child with special needs that has participated in a program of this type, it would be great if you could simply state if your child's behavior/attitude improved, stayed the same, or worsened and his or her disability. All answers will be anonymous. Thank you very much, Kelsey, High school senior
geodob
The real answer is with the coach/instructor and whether they are open to understanding and working with a child's difficulties? Yet this most often relies on an open discussion with the parent, to get a real understanding. So that realistic expectations can be set, which can make it an affirmative experience for a child.
