Candid
Next year we are going to do a writing class and have decided to outsource it. I think I've come down to two different vendors: Laurel Tree's HIgh School Compositon: http://www.laureltre....com/page5.html An Johns Hopkins CTY Online Crafting the Essay http://cty.jhu.edu/c..._essay_all.html The biggest detectable difference is one in cost (CTY is more than double.) It appears if we wanted to work super hard we could use the self paced CTY version and maybe complete all of the Crafting the Essay class and part or all of the next level. I'm not sure that's really advisable, but it sits out there on the edge of my mind and I wonder about it. I'm hoping for folks to tell me if they have used either of these programs, and what they thought about them. Did they see improvement? Did it help with college and college applications or the SAT writing portion? Stunning positives? Horrible negatives? If by some chance, someone has used both, I'd love a comparison. Thanks Sue, I had read your recommendation; it was one of the reasons I looked at Laurel Tree.
