kjaye
For those of you who have used this program, what are your thoughts? I read that Homeschool Buyer's Co-op is going to be offering it again soon, so I'm wondering if it's worthwhile.
Forgiven
Um, I purchased it last year. We're supposed to receive our last one in March. We haven't done a single one yet, but we are planning a summer science camp where we'll do one every other week. We aren't actually taking a break from learning in the summer, but I want to do fun things, like science camp. Give it a snazzy name, invite some PS friends over to participate and I'm sure my kids will find it more fun. Sorry I can't help, but I've looked through a couple and they look like fun. My kids are excited about them. We just don't have time to do them during the normal year. :(
kjaye
What a great idea! I've been trying to figure out what we'll do over summer. Seems like a no-brainer, if they're quick and easy. :)
Punchie
We purchased it through the HSBC last year. We've completed the subscription, and honestly, it wasn't worth if for us. DH couldn't stand how fluffy it was. A few of the kids are fun (like the germs one), but I don't think it's worth getting the membership. tomandlorih
http://yeeshallknow.com/science/ Single folder lapbooks to accompany the MSB chapter books for older elementary http://wateronthefloor.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/general-science-currriculum.pdf 52 weeks pairing MSB dvd's with fiction and non-fiction books, poems and experiments from Scholastic books you can pick up at their next $1 sale. http://www.scholastic.com/magicschoolbus/games/index.htm Lots of games, quizzes and activities here. . The Teacher & Parents page has classroom activities separated out by Science topic and episode. I'm trying to figure out how to combine these and do this for a 4th and a K-er next year. This might be a cheaper option for you.
