6th grade Etymology curriculum

I took Etymology with ACE in high school, and it was so beneficial to my SAT scores and my reading comprehension. What curriculum for a 6th grader would you recommend?

Megawords? It has some of that and is geared toward upper elementary/middle school.

Is there a reason you don't just use ACE?

Maybe a school course, like Vocabulary for Achievement? It starts in 6h grade and goes through 12th. Amazon has reviews and a chance to look inside.

Is there a reason you don't just use ACE?

 

Initially, I considered using ACE's entire curricula, but the more I thought about it, the less I liked the memorize and dump factor. I learned a lot, but there's a lot that I stored long enough to test, and then ejected. I jokingly called it "self-inflicted learning" when we started it. :)

 

While the Etymology is likely to be overall memorization anyways, I was curious about other possibilities. I taught Prima Latina for a year at a private school when my oldest was a baby, but that doesn't really get into the greek roots that we use so often, and doesn't always address the pre/suff.

 

So...I thought I'd see what else is out there. I'm still fishing for everything, and just about the time I think I've got it nailed, I find a review or comment somewhere that makes me think I don't... :banghead:
