Jennifer
Can anyone compare the two for me? Would you recommend one over the other? Thanks! Jennifer
coffeegal
Do you have a strong preference for workbooks or textbooks? I loathe workbooks so didn't even consider CLE and went with R&S. Another difference I've heard is that CLE is more spiral while R&S is more mastery. HTH! :001_smile:

LNC
CLE LA has teacher's guides as well as answer keys to go along with their lightunits. They also have laminated reference charts that help with memorization of grammar rules. It also includes spelling and penmanship - though it says it includes writing, you will need to supplement that. Click on your grade "details" to see samples of the teacher's guide, answer key, and light units. http://www.clp.org/store/by_subject/3 I also love their handbook: http://www.clp.org/product/cle_english_handbook_767 Reference charts: Grade 3 & 4 http://www.clp.org/product/language_arts_reference_chart_grades_3_4_2194 Grade 5 & 6 http://www.clp.org/product/language_arts_reference_chart_grades_5_6_2197 Grade 7 & 8 http://www.clp.org/product/language_arts_reference_chart_grades_7_8_2200 They also have grammar lu for English 1 & 2 for 9th grade. We are continuing on. We love CLE! Edited November 2, 2012 by LNC

Jennifer
7th grade I have CLE 7th grade LA and R&S 6th grade grammar/spelling in hand right now. Will try to look through both very soon and make a decision. Jennifer
thowell
Dd12 will be using CLE next year. I have them and they look perfect. we tried R&S twice and it was horrible for her. It was very long and boring with alot of writing which she loathes. Just another opinion. I think both are solid programs and it is more of a personal preference.
