Thanks for the info! Are you aware of any online sources for an idea of future job potential? Youngest is heading into a science field but greatly enjoys writing and was wondering how to combine the two and if she'll be able to feed herself when she graduates:001_smile:.

My dh and I got into technical writing though the editing of scientific journals. All we needed for our entry level jobs were to pass a grammar test and have an undergrad. science degree. I only worked for 2 yrs. in the field and then went back in the lab but, dh has worked on and off in some capacity in the field for the past 30 yrs. Some english departments have expository writing classes or journalism classes....that would be a place to start. Editing peer papers (a lot of schools have those writing labs for students to go to get help with their papers) or reading over faculty papers can be an education in itself.
