He has done about a years worth of studied dictation and is a pretty decent speller. He is 9yrs old. Monarch Room Posted September 1, 2012 Share Posted September 1, 2012 I'm doing Bigger with my 9, soon to be 10 y/o. I also have the Preparing guide, so I have him doing level 3. This is his first year in homeschool, so he hasn't had any kind of dictation. He's an excellent speller, but the longer dictations in level 4 would probably leave him frustrated. BTW I am getting ready to try and figure out your Character cards :) What are you using for Bible copywork? I think the kids Bible's print is too small for them to copy out of. Monarch Room Posted September 1, 2012 Share Posted September 1, 2012 The character cards have the unit's memory verse as well as the character trait. I made another small binder of the unit's memory verse, so I can stand it up while they're copying it. I found the file at the HOD yahoo group. I tweaked it though, and changed the verses to NIV. It's in comic sans (which I pretty much loathe), but I still haven't found a better copywork font. If you want the file, I can send it to you. PM me with your address, and I'll send it.
