specialkmom
What ages would you use this with? I have a 2nd and K 'er this year. We're doing HO Ancients level 1. Trying to decide if I want to spend the money on this or wait until they are older.
redsquirrel
Well, it is up to you, really. If you are following the plan as laid out in TWTM, then the logic stage (middle school) is when you do your time line. It works better when the student has a better sense of time, to start with. Plus a timeline is for making connections. That is not grammar stage. I did buy the HO timeline and wasn't thrilled with the quality. It is meant to be kept in a 3 ring binder, which I wanted. However the paper was very thin and flimsy. The very first time I put it into the binder I commented I needed to get those circle re-enforcers. The paper was thin and would rip easily. No sooner had the words come out of my mouth than the closed binder was knocked off the table. It remained closed when it fell. However, the jolt of hitting the floor ripped all the punched holes in the very thin paper. My timeline that was made to stay in a binder, neatly, was ripped and falling out of its binder. I was not impressed.
specialkmom
History Odyssey timeline is made for a binder? Website seemed to indicate more of a wall use, though binder could work. I'm not interested in a binder timeline. Anyway, if timelines are better for upper elementary, then I'll save my money and the timeline for later.
